Drills

The modern Fraser Highlanders perform the musket exercise, as practiced daily during the 18'"century, with the famous Brown Bess musket. The bellowing of commands, the shrill of the bagpipe, the beating of the drums and the explosions and smoke of the muskets allow spectators to relive a small part of battlefield life. When the troops were not on duty the pipers and drummers would have gotten together to provide lively entertainment. The troops have been replaced by spectators now, when the modern Fraser Highlanders perform with bagpipes and drums, and demonstrate their prowess with the Highland sword dance.
